“Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away today’s peace.”
This is one of my favourite boxes to date… Not only do I really love all the items included, but the whole concept of using journaling and self-care to reduce stress and anxiety is the core reason why I wanted to create The Journaling Box in the first place.
Worry and anxiety are a normal and essential part of our daily lives. They are design to keep us safe by warning of dangers or by motivating us to be prepared, should things not go to plan. The trouble with worry and anxiety is when they rob us of our joy and happiness. Learning to manage our worries and stress is the greatest gift of self-care that we can give to ourselves.
There are many great journaling techniques you can use to keep your worries at bay – my favourite go to journaling tool for reducing anxiety and stress is the brain-dump.
Set a timer for anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes (depending on the number of worries you have) and write down everything that is worrying you. List all the people, events, and situations that stressing you out. If you only have a little time, write this as a quick and dirty bullet point list, or if you have more time, describe your worries in detail… get it all out of your head and onto a piece of paper.
Hopefully, this technique will free up headspace and allow you to get on with other more important activities.
I’d love to know what journaling tactics you use to help with your worries 😊
Inside this month’s The Journaling Box are some of the best items yet!
Your Anxiety Journal, written by a professional counsellor and full of guided exercise and spaces for self-reflection, this gorgeous journal is the ideal companion to help you tackle your worries.
A beautiful Ceramic Oil Burner and Anxiety Essential Oil from New Directions Australia this oil blend has fast become one of my daily favourites, it’s a mix of Lavender, Bergamot and Ylang Ylang and smells divine – I have it burning when relaxing, when cleaning and even when I am working.
Breathing Beads, I came across the idea of breathing beads when researching an easy way to keep track of my breathing counts. When made from crystal, breathing beads become a simple tool to connect your body to your breath, while also harnessing the energy of the crystal from which it is made. I choose Plum Blossom Jade to help bring a sense of renewal and hope during your breathwork practice. Plum Blossom Jade (also known as Ru Stone) helps to dispel negative emotions and feelings and can stimulate feelings of confidence, conviction, and wholeness.
I hope you enjoy The No Worries Box this month, I’d love to hear what your favourite item was.
